Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Taos has a variety of opportunities for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.  If you enjoy groomed trails, go to Enchanted Forest, located at Bobcat Pass above Red River, 45 minutes north of Taos.  They have 33 km of groomed trails for both skiing and snowshoeing, all marked at various ability levels.  They offer rentals and friendly, expert instruction.  Go to their website for details and to check out their events calendar. http://www.enchantedforestxc.com/

If you would prefer exploring the back-country, there are several great places to explore, including Amole Canyon, Hopewell Lake/Brazos areas, and Williams Lake.  Come into Mudd N Flood for and area descriptions, rentals, maps, and directions.
